Itinerary

Get picked up from your hotel/accommodation in Udaipur and start for Chittorgarh. Arrive at Chittorgarh Fort. It's the largest fort in India and a UNESCO World Heritage site. This defensive fort was once the capital of Mewar and is located in the present-day town of Chittor. It sprawls over a hill that is 180 meters in height and spread over an area of 691.9 acres above the plains of the valley drained by the Berach River. The fort has several historical palaces, gates, a temple and two prominent commemorative towers. Alauddin Khilji was the first to raid Chittor in 1303 A.D. Legend has it that the regal beauty of Padmini so besotted Alauddin Khilji, he was overpowered by a desire to possess her. But the noble queen preferred death over dishonour & committed "Jauhar". The victim was Chittaur, which came under the sword of the marauder. Next, visit the Vijaya Stambha, an imposing victory monument located within Chittor Fort. This famous tower was built by the Mewar King, Rana Kumbha, in 1448 to commemorate his victory over the vast combined armies of Malwa and Gujarat led by Mahmud Khilji. The tower is dedicated to Hindu God, Vishnu. After finishing this tour, the guests will be drop off at their desired places in Pushkar.
